RULES OF OPERATION OF THE HOUSEHOLD HDES

INFORMATION FOR THE FAMILY OF THE DECEITED

 The Administration of the Hospital Divino Espírito Santo of Ponta Delgada, based on the General Guidelines for Healthcare establishments and the current Law, brings to the attention of all users that established new rules of functioning of the MORTUARY HOUSE of this hospital, the most important ones are transcribed in this notice.

1st Hours of Operation

Every day from 8 am to midnight

NOTE: After 24 hours it will not be allowed to transport the corpse to another place, outside the hospital, even though the death certificate is already passed, allowing family members to be deported at any time.

 

2º For the use of the hospital’s facilities, bed rooms, preparation of the corpse or any others, no amount is owed.

NOTE: Except refrigerators.

 

3º The incumbency of the preparation of the corpses is the responsibility of the hospital employees, in service in the Mortuary House, and the family can do it if it so desires.

 

4º Existence of a daily scale of Funeral Agencies, whose representatives are allowed to remain in the premises of the mortuary during the period assigned to them by scale, in strict compliance with these rules and others that may come into force, in the Hospital’s Internal Regulation.

5º In spite of the existence of the scale of service mentioned in 4, the FREE CHOICE OF THE AGENCY on the part of the relatives must be scrupulously guaranteed, being not allowed to the representatives of the agencies, or any interposed person, to force or to force the contracting of its services, for the scale assigned to it.

 

6. Funeral agencies must act with all education, civility, smoothness of procedures and respect for the deceased and their relatives, refraining from interfering illegitimately, other hospital services or funeral ceremonies to be performed by their counterparts in close compliance with a and COMPETITION among companies in the sector.

7th. The presence of representatives of Funeral Agencies on the premises of the Hospital is prohibited, except when contacted by families to deal with matters related to the organization of funerals, and this permanence should be limited to the minimum necessary time.

8º Any irregularity to the regulatory norms reproduced here, must be communicated by the interested parties, as soon as possible, to the Administration of the Hospital, in the sense of being severely punished under the law in force.
